Conflicts of the Heart

"I am, however, concerned about Raeh. His eyes reflect the conflicts of a troubled soul. And discontentment has left him always reaching. I see that he will struggle beneath the weight of grace bestowed upon him."

"Yes, but shall conflicts of the heart stay the blessings of our hand?" the Image Maker offered. "Is not this what our creation must discover? We shall give Raeh the freedom to be conflicted as he makes his journey within our love. In giving him what we ourselves possess, he is offered the full knowledge of Love's completeness. As for us; we too face the greatest risk of Love's journey in affording him the freedom to choose."

This is an excerpt from one of my favorite portions of dialogue found in my new book; The Image Maker--Beginnings.

Fearful of the conflicts that rage within our souls, we often attempt to hide our hearts from God. Becoming masters of disguise, we don various masks, live in out-right denial and/or cloak ourselves in the garb of religiosity, for we fear what God may think of us and worse--what he might do to us.

My co-author and I wanted to explore this theme in the context of story. We believe Abba (an Aramaic name, meaning Papa or Daddy, used by Jesus in referring to God) created us to fully participate in the "real life" story which he has authored; allowing the drama of choice, whether angelic, human, or his own, to be played out fully. Aware of the gravity of affording such risk, he has embarked upon Love's fractious journey, pursuing the objects of his affection into the very last chapter of His story.

Released in the Spring of 2010, The Image Maker, Beginnings, invites you to enter into a story within His story, where you too will live within its pages, pursued by His relentless love.
